Here is a run down of some of the cosmetics I keep stocked in my dedicated Vegan Makeup Kit. Where possible I buy natural ranges that advertise clean ingredients, reusable packaging, refillable pots, if not the packaging is easily recycled. Many brands are now PETA approved, and this is something to look out for!
Some of the luxury cosmetics I love to use, which are cruelty-free and have an extensive Vegan Range are
Hourglass, Inika Organics, KVD Beauty, Bare Minerals, Tropic, Delilah and Illamasqua.
Aside from luxury brands, these are some of the high-street brands I keep coming to back to when I am restocking my kit as they're just as high performance, high quality and a firm favourite.
ELF, M3NA, Inglot, The Body Shop, MUA Cosmetics, Urban Decay and Barry M.
I am passionate about Skin Care, and love to create spa-like at home rituals when I am not working. I enjoy discovering new product ranges which are ethical, zero waste, UK based where possible and natural. My preference as a consumer is to support small ethical businesses. I have had hormonal acne skin in the past, and so my own skin journey has come a long way. The good news is that Skin care science is always improving! Some of the brands I love to use are:
REN, The Body Shop, The Ordinary, Botanics, Madara and Beauty Kitchen.
Protecting your hair from damage is key in all seasons. I recommend regular trims, hair masks and conditioning treatments such as Olaplex in the lead up to your big day or event! I will look at your hair condition at a consultation and advise you what would be best for your hair type. I love to use:
Maria Nila, Lee Stafford, Paul Smith, The Body Shop, Davines, Design ME & Umberto Giannini.
I only use bamboo reusable cleansing pads, bamboo wood cotton buds and eco material cotton head bands. The brushes I use for Makeup Application are synthetic hairs and never animal hair. What is equally great about them is they last longer, dry quicker, and do not shed hair. Most eco branded brush handles are made from natural materials also, which is great to lessen plastic waste.
I use brands such as eco tools, real techniques, morphe, arbonne and so eco! At times I use sponges, which are reusable, and stainless steal palettes and spatulas for a hygienic and clean application. Read more on current Hygiene practices here:
